On jewelry, Proust, gardening, and this blog

So, I spent some time browsing a craft shop today. One of the necklaces on display contained this quote from Marcel Proust:

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

It's stuck in my head for the remainder of the day.

I named this blog months ago, but felt my choice validated after reading this. At the outset, I knew that while I was officially "in charge" of the boys' home education, that they'd teach *me* just as much -- more, really -- than I could hope to teach them.

My vision for our home school is that we learn from each other, help our hearts sing, and yes, make our souls blossom.
