Elderflower Syrup Update

Returning to my elderflower syrup creation...

So, after letting my elderflowers steep for two days, I strained out the flowers, added sugar, and boiled the mixture.

It looks lovely -- a clear, light brown. It's also verrry sweet, but that is helped when the syrup is diluted with water. The flavor is very light, almost too light, really. Maybe I should have used more flowers? Also, it will be interesting to see what adding lemon juice will do.

In any case, not bad for a first run. I'll be enjoying my Holunderblütensaft, especially since I made it myself. :-)
